My CLAMP haul from Expo!  Doesn’t want to photoset properly without editing but I honestly cannot be bothered.  More pictures on Flickr later.

So!  I got a TB artbook, which I’d been planning on buying anyway but it was one of the very first things I saw when I entered the convention hall, so I was like THIS IS FATE.  Then also super-adorable pin badges & two gorgeous poster sets.  I’m gonna frame the poster of precious baby & put it on the wall somewhere hopefully so I can sob violently every time I enter the room.

I also spent most of the day hanging out with inmyvortex who is lovely ;w;  All in all A SUCCESSFUL DAY I THINK.

Once more, I come bearing gifts!  Today it’s the CLAMP in Wonderland doujinshi they did, which is mainly Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure but also features Sonic the Hedgehog, amongst other things.  You can download it here.

I don’t really know enough about Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure to feel like I could do a good job of translating that bit, but I could easily offer up scanlations of the Sonic pages if there’s enough demand…?

Who wants Shoten 5 scans?

So.  I own a copy of Shoten 5 but it’ll be very difficult for me to scan without ruining it completely so I’m not that inclined to do it…  But!  I’ve found another copy on sale for $12.  The problem is I guess that I don’t have unlimited financial resources here (jobless bum, sob sob sob) so I’d need people to help contribute, say via Paypal or something.  Things contained in Shoten 5 that might be of interest:

• The first Tokyo Babylon short story, plus relevant artwork
• The Shining Star Ashura-ou/Taishakuten story
• Dudes kissing (??)
• A whole bunch of vintage CLAMP

Obviously my scans would be nicer quality than anything that’s already out there.  Any donations that are in excess of the actual cost I’d return.  Similarly if people didn’t donate enough to buy the book I’d return any donations I did receive.  If that makes sense?

• Scanlations: you can read those here, though there are a lot of mistakes in the translation, plus the image quality & lettering are really patchy in places so… read these with caution.
• Raws: you can download them here, sometimes physical copies pop up on eBay or you could order from various Japanese sites using a proxy service.
• Official translations: I know Viz did an initial run of these some years back which have since gone out of print.  The artwork is flipped & the translation is awful, avoid.  Then more recently they rereleased X in omnibus format, with three volumes per book.  You can get the first two books here & here, they cover the first six volumes between them.  That’s all that’s been released so far.  In all honesty I’m not keen on this translation either but it’s better than the scanlations, on the whole.

No new character meme questions for the time being, please ;w;

I’ve had a far bigger response to this than I expected, which is wonderful - thank you so much for all your suggestions, I’ve been having a lot of fun with them!  But I’ve got a bit of a backlog to deal with at the moment, so I’d appreciate it if you guys could hold off on any new prompts until I’ve got this lot cleared.  I might skip over a few for characters I’ve done already, because there are only so many hours in the day!

I’ve been throwing around the idea of opening an ‘Ask a CLAMP Character’-type blog where I’d be doing a similar thing I’ve been doing with this meme - using manga panels because I can’t draw for shit.  Is this the sort of thing people would be interested in, or…?
